New Website on Water and Sanitation Issues in Tanzania: EEPCO launches its website

The Environmental Engineering and Pollution Control Organization (EEPCO), a Tanzanian NGO specialized in environmental issues, has recently launched its very first website.

The site, www.eepco-tz.org, focuses on issues concerning water and sanitation, and is designed for connecting and informing donors, other organizations, interested clients and beneficiaries as well as various other stakeholders.

We live in a world where easy access to information has become of great importance in all professional areas. Regardless of the size of a company or organization, it is crucial to have an online presence where potential clients, journalists and other stakeholders can get information. NGOs worldwide are using websites successfully as cost-effective communications tool to promote their work, inform stakeholders and raise funds.

Edmund John, director of the sanitation department at EEPCO said: “The internet is rapidly gaining importance in Tanzania and more and more people go online in search for information. Anybody researching water, sanitation and related environmental issues in Tanzania should find out about EEPCO and the work we are doing. We are proud to announce that EEPCO’s own website is now online.”

The website www.eepco-tz.org allows for easy, intuitive navigation and offers extensive information on the NGO and its services and field of work. A selection of implemented projects portrays EEPCO’s expertise and knowledge. Detailed project information, fact sheets and photos are available for each project; the most recent projects are also featured on the homepage. “This is really the heart of our website”, explained Edmund John. “People ask: ‘What do you do? What experience do you have? What can you offer me?’ Giving them insight into our projects is the best way to show what we do and how we work.” Project entries as well as news items are updated on a regular basis, making the website attractive to visit regularly.
